PROF. DR. HALUK SELVİ CONTINUES TO DISTORT PARLIAMENTARY ARCHIVES…
Dear Readers!
As you know, I wrote a column drawing public attention to the distortion made by Prof. Dr. Haluk Selvi, Head of the Atatürk's Principles and History of Revolution Department at Sakarya University, in the Iğdır section of his book "Telegrams Sent to the Turkish Grand National Assembly from Anatolia During the National Struggle," published by the TBMM. Instead of apologizing to the public, the panicked Professor secretly (!) continued his distortion today:
Until yesterday (https://www.tbmm.gov.tr/yayinlar/telgraflar_kitabi2020.pdf), under subheading No. 38 on page 197 of the book at this address, there was a passage about Iğdır that read:
"…Later, ANZAC soldiers under British command arrived in the region, disbanded this administration established in Kars, and hanged and executed İbrahim Cihangiroğlu. While high-ranking officials were exiled to Malta, Ekber (Tufan) from Iğdır, Meşhedi Bilal (Toksöz), and Ali Mirza Bey escaped exile."
However, as of today, this text at the address ((https://www.tbmm.gov.tr/yayinlar/telgraflar_kitabi2020.pdf) has been changed as follows:
"…..Later, ANZAC soldiers under British command arrived in the region, disbanded this administration established in Kars, and exiled İbrahim Cihangiroğlu to Malta. While high-ranking officials were exiled to Malta, Ekber (Tufan) from Iğdır, Meşhedi Bilal (Toksöz), and Ali Mirza Bey avoided being exiled."
Dear Readers!
They asked the camel, "Why is your neck crooked?" The camel replied, "What part of me is straight!" We owe at least some gratitude to the poor Professor, whose every sentence is wrong and full of distortion: He saved the late İbrahim Cihangiroğlu from being hanged and sent him into exile in Malta. Changing the PDF file at the TBMM does not end this matter. The books sold in the market should be immediately recalled, and this esteemed person, who has committed two consecutive distortions, should have his professorship revoked.
OH PROFESSOR! YOU HAVE BEEN FOUND GUILTY OF DISTORTING THE HISTORY OF IĞDIR AND SPREADING FALSE INFORMATION. YOU OWE AN APOLOGY TO THE PEOPLE OF IĞDIR AND TO ME PERSONALLY!
