The Geloylu Community Made Its Second Great Peace

A 14-year-long feud between two families belonging to the Geloylu Community ended today with a peace agreement. The peace meeting, held at the Anatolia Wedding Hall, began at 12:00 PM. Cengiz Gelal came to the podium and delivered the opening speech:

“Dear Guests,

Welcome to our Peace Meeting!

I now hand over the floor to Mücahit Özden Hun to deliver the speech for our peace meeting. Thank you.”

Mücahit Özden Hun, unable to attend the meeting in person due to COVID-19, connected to the meeting via projection from his quarantine location and delivered his peace speech:

Dear Elders, Dear Siblings, Honorable Members of the Geloylu Community;

I welcome you all!

Hûn bi xêr hatin! Ser seran ser çavan hatin! (Welcome! You are welcome on our heads and eyes!)

We have a distinguished guest among us. On behalf of the Geloylu Community, I welcome Mr. Alaattin Yanardağ, Lecturer and President of CAMER, and extend my love and respect to him.

Before I begin my speech, I would like to thank Mr. Fikret, the owner of Anatolia Hall, and the service staff, on behalf of the Geloylu Community.

Dear Guests,

Our esteemed Governor will not be able to join us today due to his busy schedule. We thank our esteemed Governor for his interest and closeness.

Dear Siblings,

I would like to make a warning: We are gathered in an enclosed environment. I ask everyone to show the necessary sensitivity against the COVID epidemic.

Dear Guests, Dear Siblings!

We are experiencing a day together where we share our sorrows. Let us not forget, today is not only a Day of Peace for the Geloylu Community but also a day of integration, solidarity, and unity. Every heart, every soul, that is, each of you present here, is here to witness a sacred duty, a peace. The most beautiful things in the world are Peace and Tranquility.

A hadith of our Prophet (PBUH) says: 'O Allah! You are peace and salvation, and peace and salvation come from You.'

For years, we have prayed for this peace. All of you have contributed to the realization of this peace. Therefore, this is our peace, this is the peace of all of us, this is the sacred peace of the Geloylu Community. I especially salute the members of the Göral and Güven families who buried their sorrows in their hearts and dared to make peace. To honor our brothers Hüseyin Göral and Aydın Güven, who overwhelmed us with endless joy by their decision for peace, I ask all of you to please stand up and applaud these two brothers of ours. (Loud applause)

Dear siblings!

Please be seated!

Now it is time to commemorate the sacred souls of all members of the Geloylu Community, past and present, who have departed from us and passed into eternity. I invite our Religious Scholar to recite the Quran. Scholar, the floor is yours!”

After Ahmet Karaçöl, the Religious Scholar from Taşlıca Village, recited the Quran and gave advice for peace, he handed the floor back to Mücahit Özden Hun:

“Dear guests! Dear siblings!

We have now reached the most important moment of our peace. I invite the members of the Göral family to the stage. (Pause) I invite the members of the Güven family to the stage. (Pause) First, I want my brother Hüseyin Göral and my brother Aydın Güven to shake hands and realize the peace.

May our peace be auspicious!

May Allah bless our peace!

As Mücahit Özden Hun concluded his speech, emotional moments were experienced in the hall, and the parties honored the peace by shaking each other's hands. Afterwards, the meal began.
