The Azerbaijani Delegation Must Immediately Leave Iğdır
A Turkish scholar calls for an Azerbaijani delegation to immediately leave Iğdır, citing their political interference in Turkish elections as a violation of international norms and disrespect for Turkish citizens' will.
Today (May 22), Adil Aliyev, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan, is visiting the AK Party Building in Iğdır with a delegation. In his statement, he declared that he came to Iğdır to support the "People's Alliance." Regardless of which candidate is being supported, such a statement is contrary to international norms and rules. It is a disrespect to the will of the citizens of the Republic of Türkiye. Iğdır is a province of the Republic of Türkiye, and it is also the province where ethnic tensions and difficulties have been felt most acutely over the years. While aiming for Azerbaijani-Kurdish integration, this visit, which serves to deepen the fault line, must be immediately terminated, and the delegation should return to their country. Sincerely, Mücahit Özden Hun
